Summary
The case study showcases archiApp, the first web application designed by Thirdbridge for L’Archipel de l’Avenir, an organization that supports autistic adults in developing independence skills. Developed pro bono, the application was designed to be simple, clear, and tailored to the specific needs of its users. Using Payload technology, the team created a flexible and easy-to-manage tool that enables the organization to provide accessible digital support and enhance the distribution of its educational content.

Project
Even today, autistic individuals and their families face numerous prejudices that hinder their social inclusion. Thirdbridge chose to partner with the nonprofit organization L’Archipel de l’Avenir to provide its software development services. The goal was to design their very first application: archiApp, a web application created to offer digital support to participants in L’Archipel’s independent living workshops, helping facilitate their learning and foster greater autonomy.

Challenges
As archiApp was designed for individuals on the autism spectrum, our team dedicated many hours to preliminary research to ensure the platform would deliver the simplest and most intuitive user experience possible. This in-depth research allowed us to better understand the specific characteristics and needs of autistic individuals, enabling us to apply best practices in inclusive design. Every button, feature, and illustration was carefully considered to meet users’ needs while prioritizing simplicity and clarity throughout the interface.
